"Telltale Games" will release a remake of the popular game UNDERTALE. It's been an unusually long time since the first Undertale game was announced, but now it's starting to take new shape. In a tweet, Undertale creator Toby Fox revealed that the game is being developed by Telltale Games.

As the game allows for multiple endings, the developer has also stated that it's a very difficult choice to create these endings.
The blog, which was set up by the developers of UNDERTALE, read:

  • «I mentioned the original game when talking about the remaster, so it's unclear if there will be some big changes to the plot line, but presumably there will be. There will be all of the characters, but there will also be some characters that appear in Deltarune, but since this is a remaster, we should expect some new characters too...»
  • «We had a lot of fan suggestions for boss battles during development, but we're not sure how to accurately describe them other than some words like 'increasingly difficult' or 'increasingly mind-boggling.'» they added.

The battle system they used was based off the 'dodge a bullet' approach that Toby Fox has used in the game. They also introduce a new system, recently seen in some events, called Implification. Characters will be capable of "implifying" their fighting spirit by unleashing more determination and absorbing more LOVE.

As the "Telltale Games" graphics studio specializes mainly in 3D graphics, The new game will look different than the 2D original.

  • «Working on original sprites was a hardest task. It's very difficult to draw every detail of a character. While creating a game such as this, we do have to show the very best results of our graphic designers, but so far, it is all. However, when you are implementing the 3D elements of the game, it requires extra work, so it is a difficult task. It will also bring the beauty of the original game to life, so we hope to continue adding new content

Game creators took it upon themselves to take a hands-on look at Undertale and record their observations with the game's most adorable impressions. Much to their surprise, they found that the game wasn't nearly as intimidating as it seemed from the outside. This story was told via the observations of SOUL. It's an attempt to explain how Undertale made its new creators feel. Here's how they explained that:

  • «We would spend our days mostly playing Undertale (sometimes we would sit in our room alone in our underwear and cry our eyes out). It became quite the privilege to observe a game that actually makes us impressed. What we found after a while is that you can just walk around and start doing stranger things. In fact, if you only looked at the white and black graphics and read the text, it would be, but people can get through in and that looks like what the SOUL actually see. Every action we take, every choice we make can either work at every point in the game, so to speak.»

Developers says: «We really appreciate all the interest from the fans»
The video game remake of Undertale, under the trademark of "Telltale Games", is being released in September 2021. It looks to be a faithful remake that is built upon the excellent execution of the original game. For some reason, the creators did not think "Undertale remake" would be the best title for this piece. So instead just "UNDERTALE" was chosen. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Not only is this a good news for fans of the fan-favorite game, but it also means it will be a cross-platform release.
Undertale has been gaining popularity on the streaming game service Twitch since its release in 2015. Over 800,000 people have registered for a chance to join the team of the game's creators, Toby Fox and his brother, Josh. Over 85,000 YouTube videos have been made of the game.
